Wellington Sculling Club

Glide. Breath. Belong.

Sculling is a form of rowing that is smooth, rhythmic and quietly powerful. It’s the feeling of gliding across the water, moving in harmony with your boat and discovering strength you didn’t know you had. It is a low-impact, full-body exercise that builds strength, balance and coordination while being gentle on the joints. Many of our members describe it as both energizing and meditative.

There’s no better place to experience rowing than Guelph Lake. It offers calm stretches, wide sightlines and a peaceful natural setting – ideal for learning and practicing the sport.

Whether you’re brand new to rowing or returning after time away, our club offers a warm and supportive environment to learn, reconnect with your body and enjoy time on the water.

About our Club

The Wellington Sculling Club focuses on the type of rowing known as sculling, where each rower uses two oars for a balanced and rhythmic glide through the water. It’s known for its smooth motion, graceful feel and quiet focus – perfect for people who enjoy being active outdoors without the intensity or pressure of competitive sports.

We are intentionally a small group. That means personal attention, relaxed sessions and familiar faces. We have singles, doubles and a quad so you can row individually or with other members.
The Club is based at a private, peaceful and beautiful site at the east end of Guelph Lake, accessed from Jones Baseline. 5422 Jones Baseline, Guelph/Eramosa Ontario

Learn to Row (Adult)

The Wellington Sculling Club hosts a fun, engaging and thorough Learn to Row Program. Our small group sessions are supported by coaches that take you through the mechanics of sculling, on- and off-water learning activities, water safety and safe sport policies. We’re excited to invite graduates of Learn to Row to join the Club for the remainder of the season and future seasons.

Group or Individual Rowing (Adult

When you join the Wellington Sculling Club, you can participate in four scheduled group rowing sessions each week, row at different times with other members, or go out on your own. Group rowing times are typically:

Monday and Wednesday evenings (6:00 pm)
Saturday and Sunday mornings (8:00 am)

Early mornings and evenings are preferred since the wind and water tend to be calmer during these times.
